This set
of pictures were taken in October, the weather was very nice and the
park was not as crowd as spring or summer. Glacier Point is
perhaps the most famous viewpoint in Yosemite. It is accessible by
car during the late spring, summer and fall. It is the most
spectacular vista anywhere. Most people agree that its views of the
high country and breathtaking views of Yosemite Valley, including
Half Dome and three waterfalls, are the most spectacular in the
park.
Mirror Lake(Seasonal Lake). The lake is a moderately easy, one-mile
walk from the upper pine camp ground. In spring time, the thin layer
of water that runs down the stream will create a mirror reflections
of Tenaya Canyon and Half Dome.

The landscape of Yosemite is
the result of millions of years of geologic activity. Visitors
should take advantage of the free shuttle service that is offered by
the park to get around the Yosemite Valley. They may ride their
bicycles on the paved bikeways or hike.

I
used this page to remind myself that my next visit to
Yosemite should be spring time so that I can see the falls.
As you can see the falls dry up at this time of the year,
but the scenery is still wonderful. |

We need to help keep bears wild and alive by storing our food in
bearproof food lockers or canisters and disposing of garbage
properly. We need to be 'cool' by NOT allowing them to eat our food,
after all, their natural foods are grasses, berries, acorns and
inserts.
A bear
visited our camp ground at dusk and we were alerted by the park
rangers and others.

Coyotes, like bears, are
typically shy and avoid people. The most likely spot to see a coyote
is trotting through a meadow. In our October trip, we spotted
one crossing the bridge under broad day light.
Deer are most
often seen in Yosemite, especially in meadows early in the morning
and in the late afternoon or evening.

Directions:
I used 140 to get to the park on this October 2006 trip.
