The Great Reno Balloon Race is free to the public. It is always scheduled for the first Friday through Sunday after Labor Day. People wear T-shirts with jackets if they go for the early shows. Dressing is layers is advised as the mornings can be chilly before dawn. But once the sun comes up, all you need is a T-shirt.

Tried to get there early if you wanted to watch the earliest show which starts at 5:30 sharp. It took us 20 to 25 minutes to get to the parking lot even at 5 am because there was only one line to get into the major parking lot. You should bring a jacket and a long pants for the early hours in order to enjoy the events.

You could be next to the hot air balloons where they were launched. It was beautiful to see all the colorful balloons filled up the blue sky right in front of you eyes.

We usually slept 5 hours the night before the shows, but it was worth the efforts.
